The Minto Island Pedestrian and Bicycle Bridge, a project that’s been a vision of city and community leaders for three decades, has cleared one of its last obstacles.

Senate President Peter Courtney, D-Salem, issued a statement praising the proposed bike and pedestrian path.
“It will double the opportunities for walking, running and cycling along the Willamette River,” Courtney said. “It will make Salem’s park system on the river a true Oregon gem.”
